We have been getting a lot of visitors looking at our picture of the big snow truck picture on our “Snow removal in Alaska… always a wonderful experience!” article. So, I thought you all might like to see a video of one of these beasts in action! Enjoy.

Hello, I go by the name “Lady Landlord” on this website and I’m the lady of the house. You can view all of my entries by clicking the “Written by Lady Landlord” link in the categories section on the right side of the main page. I’ll be posting little stories here and there when I have time, so keep an eye out for my updates between my husbands entries.

There is a doormat I have seen before that says something about how “Every third salesperson who knocks on this door will be shot on site!” then, below it says, “The second one just left”. It is stories like the one I’m about to tell you, that makes me wish we could post such a sign in our building.

Just a quick little story.

With winter creeping in on us here in Alaska, I’m reminded of something that happened last year about this time.

Our units are equipped with a switch inside the apartment that controls a power plug at the apartments corresponding parking space. This allows the tenant to flip a switch to power their vehicles block heater in the winter. Many tenants just flip the switch and leave it on all the time.

One day, my wife and I came home from running some errands, and we saw something that surprised us quite a bit…
