The Dangers of Sleep Medications

April 27th, 2008

One day, while my wife and I were on our way out the door to go shopping, I heard a faint high pitch noise coming from inside the building. I didn’t think much of the noise at the time, but after a few hours of shopping, I noticed the noise was still there when we returned home. Sleep Walking Guy

After unpacking our groceries, I walked through the building to investigate the noise. After a few brief minutes, I discovered which apartment the noise was coming from. Our apartment is on the first floor, and the one making the noise was all the way up on the third floor. I listened at the door and could hear the high pitch noise ringing loud. I could also hear a strange popping noise.

I knocked on the door… – No answer. I knocked louder… -Again, no answer. I then pounded the door so hard it felt like I was going to knock it off its hinges. I heard someone stirring inside. Now I’ve seen a lot of weird and unexpected things being an apartment manager, but I could not have guessed what I was about to see.

Search Engine Results: A glimpse of this websites audience.

March 24th, 2008

One of the interesting parts of having your own website is having the opportunity to figure out how people are finding your website. There are a number of tools you can use to try to better understand the people that are reading your site and by better understanding your audience, you can improve your website and make it more valuable to the people that read it.

One of the tools I use is a search engine report. This basically shows me what words or phrases people are using in search engines when they find this website. Sometimes the queries make complete sense (“Funny Apartment Stories”), and sometimes I have no idea how a particular search term could be associated with my site (“Flaming bag of poop”)

So, I thought it might be kind of funny and interesting for you to see the last several months search terms that people have used to find the site. Who knows, maybe you will see the very phrase you used to find the site listed below.

Hit the link below to see the list, and leave us a comment telling us how you found http://www.apartmentmanageradventures.com

Introduction of a new topic: Quick Tips, quick fixes to maitenance problems.

March 12th, 2008

Hello everyone,

Enforcer here. I think I have mentioned that I pretty much do all of the maintenance of this building, which varies greatly. I am amazed at the things that can go wrong in an apartment or house. It keeps me busy, that is for sure. One benefit to all these problems I see and fix in peoples apartments is that I have become very familiar with the common problems and over time become proficient at solving them. (I often have tenants comment on how I know exactly where to go and what to do to solve various problems) There are also a lot of little tricks I pick up here and there over time.

Looking at the searches people are using to find this site it appears that some of you are interested in learning to repair common household things, or may be interested in little tips that help things run a little more smoothly, so I’ve decided to start a new category on the site called “Quick Tips”. Within this category, I will be sharing the secrets and little things that you can do to make things in your home work better, or things you can do when working on common problems in the home to make the job easier.

So, today, my Quick Tip is involving any kind of wooden furniture that has drawers without wheels or rails in them. (The common, wood on wood slide out drawers.)

These drawers can often become stubborn and refuse to slide open and closed smoothly…
